Autumn statement

It's the Autumn Statement today. Let's hope that the Chancellor will do something about the crippling level of taxes paid by British businesses!

According to the CBI, when you take into account the tax on jobs that is employers' NIC, business rates, environmental taxes, fuel duties, irrecoverable VAT and if you've still made a profit after all that lot, corporation tax, British businesses paid 29% of all taxes in 2010/11.

And HMRC are targeting businesses to try to collect even more with things like the relaunched Business Records Check!

Is it any wonder that the economy isn't recovering as fast as we'd like?
